Hard work is starting.

So the retail premises we found for our amazing products has not gone to plan. But we must move on, what is meant to be will be!

Yesterday was a good day and we had many "good ideas" inspirations for some spring designs.
I also read that Pantone have launched a new colour....... Honeysuckle. Which said to be a pinkish red colour. Looking forward to seeing that.

We are hoping to exhibit at this years Country living fair for spring and hopefully Christmas. Which would be amazing, as I have been going there for years in ore of everyone exhibiting.

I have also just read Ariannas Interiors blog today. I have to attend the restaurant that speaks so highly of. Derriere in Paris. The photographs on her blog look just fabulous. so that is now on my do list along with a zillion other things for 2011!

Today is a research day at home and out of the rain. Not feeling too good as the baby is causing a little more sickness ........ 3 months obviously wasn't long enough for this little man.

Lets hope for some good results today.

New Year and Exciting times...

So we have found a retail premises and I am feeling very excited about the prospect of having a store / shop!
I have so many wonderful and exciting items I want to share - however I don't feel that a having a website alone is enough. It doesn't allow the desired WOW factor I'd like people to have when they see our items.
So fingers crossed this premises is within our reach!

Can finally put my ideas and finds out there to share with everyone.

Ooooo and to be my boss would be just fab!

I am loving Twitter at the moment, its great having insight to other peoples thoughts around designa nd business. So many people out there. Very inspirational!

christmas time

Its been a while since I lasted posted. I am putting it down to a hectic festive approach and finding out we are expecting a baby boy!

We have lots more to add to our site and I have had some very inspirational Christmas gifts- so will be looking to put my new ideas to good use and producing them.

We have had a good response from our products so far. People at Camden Market seemed to like our ideas.

I plan on blogging every day from now on and fitting it into my daily routine.

Happy Christmas to all

Danielle -Modicum Of Decorum: First Post

"

First Post

Wow, I've actually done it! The girl that knows NOTHING about computers has actually managed to create a BLOG!!
I am very pleased with myself!

After much deliberation and uncertainty I have decided to create a Blog telling you about my new adventure.
I have always had a passion for all types of furniture and interiors. From King Louis style beds to bottle openers. Its always been a dream to start my own business selling furniture and Interiors and so I have decided (with much support and encouragement from my partner) to do just that!

Over my 27years I have found many interesting and excited articles on my travels. I absolutely love hunting around shops, stalls and stores looking (and buying) things for the home and I am often caught saying 'Ooooo I have never seen that at home' - home being London.
So I have decided to bring these marvellous finds to London and share them with everyone!

Modicum Of Decorum is coming VERY soon .... just finishing the final bits and pieces and it will be open for everyone to share!
